Hey. Game of Thrones people.
See how the Breaking Bad people are doing it?? No spoilers, no telltale comments, no ruining it for future viewers.
Are they still using all social media platforms? Yes. Are they expressing their shock?? You betcha. Do I (a current non-viewer) have any clue what went down??? I do not.
And because of this, my desire to get on the Breaking Bad train grows stronger. (Whoo! Whoo! Those are train noises… Ugh. Whatever). Taking the Game of Thrones train, however, I’m going to pass on. Thanks to all the “spoilers are my right” viewers out there, it would be like riding a train that’s stuck in a traffic jam which is on it’s way to certain death.
"Oh. I should get on the three-year long train ride even though I now know there is going to be a huge crash at a specific station??"
"Oh. Even though you got to go through a whole range of emotions while the big moment unfolded that I’ll never get a chance to experience just because you wanted to explicitly tweet/facebook about it without the cursory ‘spoiler alert’?"
Yeah. I’ll pass.
So way to actually make people NOT want to watch the show you love.
Breaking Bad, gaining viewers. Game of Thrones, losing viewers.
Good job fans. And seriously, good job Breaking Bad fans!!
So basically, I’m still annoyed about spoilers. And also super excited to start watching Breaking Bad.
That’s it. Carry on.
